15' performance

Nest was an outdoor performance made in summer 2004 as part of Clarinda Mac Low's Salvage/Salvation 4: Nest. We were allowed into a derelict children's garden located on the grounds. We were allowed to use anything we found. Many of the plant beds were over-grown with huge leafy greens. The head pieces were made from chicken wire with long grass woven through. We were unable to see through. The headpieces were modeled off of bird's nests. We found a wooden prop-up Statue of Liberty that we combined with fence posts, rubber hoses and cobble stones to make a bridge that crossed over the rose bushes. We entered by dropping off the end. We ate giant leaf burritos by stuffing them into the top of our bird nest headpieces. Each time we performed we asked a person in the audience to throw grass balls at us when we got too close to something, or we were in danger.
